The paintings I create are in a semi-abstract style. Working with a limited or monochrome palette, I love the calming combination of blue and white, with occasional vibrant flashes of red. Experimenting with textures and a variety of materials to create subtle, fluid effects, I aim to convey and capture light, atmosphere, and a sense of mood and movement in a loose, flowing , suggestive style. I'm especially interested in the fluctuation and fragility, yet also the power, of the sea, nature, and the environment. The sea, in particular, is a recurring theme, and features prominently in my work. Proving to be an important and positive force in my recovery, the beautiful Norfolk coast is a great inspiration and influence.
My paintings and miniature sculptures have featured and sold in popular local exhibitions, an international charity exhibition in New York, another in London, and most recently (2017) in Stratford-upon-Avon, UK. Several paintings have been selected for two juried online art exhibitions by an art gallery in Los Angeles, California, USA. I am also delighted to be held in private collections around the globe.
